What to Do Next?
Kaltura is the college's
media content management tool that provides secure public and private video
hosting within the Moodle LMS and its new MediaSpace media portal. With
MediaSpace (similar to YouTube), users can access Zoom recordings, and
securely create, upload, and share OnDemand videos, screencasts, and other
rich media content, anytime, anywhere.
What is Happening?
Starting Monday, February 27, a copy of your Zoom recordings will automatically save to MediaSpace (My Media), Moodle (My Media), and Zoom. All Zoom users are encouraged to manually delete obsolete Zoom recordings created prior to February 27. Zoom recordings in Kaltura will be saved permanently until you delete it. The original Zoom recording will remain in your Zoom account, but will automatically be deleted after 120 days (3 months).
Who is Impacted?
All CCC faculty and staff with licensed Zoom accounts. Students will also be able to access their Moodle video library (My Media) via MediaSpace. Student communication announcing the new MediaSpace will be sent at a later date.
Why the Change?
The new Kaltura integration allows for unlimited storage, makes Zoom recordings and other media content easier to find, share, or embed, saves over $6000 per year in additional costs, and more exciting features!
